Leather Baby Booties and a Little Break

I've been busy sewing but just didn't feel like sharing much, sorry to those of you who leave such wonderful comments. It seems that over the last couple months the negative comments I've been getting have increased quite a bit. Now, I know, I put myself out here and should expect it but it still stings. I delete them because I don't want negativity following me. I'm not a thin person, heck, I know that, but the comments about my size really annoy me. I've reached a place in my life where I am happy with who I am and have accepted my curviness and truthfully embraced it. Still no one wants to hear that something looks horrible on them because of their build. Anyway, that's why I haven't been posting much and why now I'm just showing off some baby booties I made for a coworker. I wholeheartedly appreciate all the wonderful comments of so many and will be back posting my garments soon!

I found a free pattern online and purchase a couple lots of leather scraps on ebay. These were so much fun to make!

Ooh, these are super cute! Where did you find the free pattern? My tiny baby has really thin feet and I'm afraid I'll never be able to find her any shoes. Maybe I'll just make her some instead.

About the negative comments, I can NOT believe people have the bad manners to leave them. Honestly! I guess manners aren't high on parenting lists these day, but they are SO needed!

Thanks Amanda! Here's the pattern I used. I just adapted it for leather.

Here's another one I just found that is for leather.

I may try that second one myself. They were very fun to make.

Those are adorable!

Boo to your nasty commenters. I really can't believe people are ignorant enough to do that! I personally LOVE blogs that feature curvier women who sew for themselves. They show that you don't have to be build like a runway model to have clothing that fits well and looks good.

How horrible that people leave such comments! I don't think I've commented before, but I want you to know I really like your blog and all you make. I think you look great in the things I've seen so far. And the booties are very cute!

Its a shame people have made mean comments on your blog :-( Try not to take any notice of them, God made us in quite a wide range of body shapes and so he was obviously OK with it, so the opinions of mere mortals are not too big a deal in comparison.

You are Beautiful just the way you are. There will always be somebody thinner and somebody heavier than you are. God has made us all unique and special in our own way. You keep doing you! Love your blog, but this is the first time I felt compelled to comment.

Thanks for all the sweet comments! Truly, I am ok with who I am and generally I just brush them off. I guess there were just a few too many in a row and it got to me. Thanks again!!!

They are so cute!!

I can't believe people have left you negative comments. How heartless of them. Obviously they were never taught that if they can't say something nice to just keep their mouths shut!

I think you look lovely in the clothing that you make, and you always seem so happy with the outcome :)

So sorry to hear that people leave you negative comments! What the ..??
I love reading your blog and seeing the clothes you make for yourself and I admire that you are brave enough to pose in front of the camera to show them off. :)
The baby shoes are just gorgeous!

Those booties are a great little pattern. My brothers have been so inconsiderate in producing sons...I have no little girly-girl to sew such cute things for!

I am sorry to hear about the negative comments...I get surprisingly few on my blog; and I am much larger than you. Of course, I don't allow anonymous commenting on my blog, and it seems that the nasty comments always came from "anonymous." Hang in there ;)

Tell them to go get a life! They obviously don't have one if all they have time to do is make nasty comments about someone who seems fun, and so talented with her sewing.....

Kim, I'm absolutely speechless that anyone would leave you a comment about your appearance! Everything I've ever seen you make is fantastic, it fits you perfectly, and your technique is spot on. It makes me seethe to think someone out there would be such an ass.

I for one love your sewing and your blogging. Keep it up, girl. Screw the haters!

Kim - as a plus size woman who has put herself out there I totally understand the feedback you get and how it makes you feel. I say delete the comments and realize that its someone else's issue. That they are projecting their shortcomings onto you.

Please don't stop sharing your garments! You make me think about things in a different way. Some things you make for your curvy body allow me to think that maybe they might work on mine! :)

Plus if you stop blogging about your projects, the naysayers win and we don't want that to happen do we?

So for very selfish reasons, I hope you continue to post the wonderful garments you make because I would miss seeing them!

What?!? I can't believe people! I absolutely love visiting your blog and reading your posts. You're quite advanced for someone who hasn't been sewing long and I love everything you make. I've never thought about your size or anything. He spends their time doing that. You have a beautiful figure and most importantly know how to attractive clothes that make you look fabulous. Please don't let people's negativity deter you. You've got a WONDERFUL gift and you're quite attractive. Sorry, people just anger me. I feel my blood boiling. Anyway, please know that I appreciate you for you and love your blog! Don't let those "crazies" get to you. It just have to be jealousy because secure people don't belittle others!!! BTW, cute booties!!!

I found a light weight black leather jacket and want to make some. I need to find a way to girl the black leather up.
